GM Realty Advisors, LLC(“GMRA”) is a full service commercial real estate development and advisory firm located in Irvine, California. GMRA’s primary focus is facilitating commercial real estate opportunities for its clients, including private investors, landowners, financial institutions, retailers and some of the largest and most respected real estate development and investment companies in the United States. Utilizing a broad-based team of attorneys, architects, engineers, brokers and analysts, GMRA strives to match each particular challenge or opportunity with the proper team of solution-based team members.
When providing services as a project principal, GMRA seeks to capitalize on the local market knowledge and strong tenant relationships developed over the years by identifying underutilized properties for acquisition, redevelopment and value creation. As an advisor, GMRA offers a relationship-based service that is dedicated to achieving each client’s long term goals.
Prior to establishing GM Realty Advisors, LLC in 2002, Greg Mickelson, GMRA’s managing member, was a partner with Koll Development Company, directing the company’s Western Division retail development activities throughout California, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado. His responsibilities included acquisitions, site selection, feasibility analysis, planning and financial evaluation, entitlements, design, construction management, leasing, operations and disposition. During his eight-year tenure with Koll, Mickelson participated in the planning and development of over 3.3 million square feet of projects, including neighborhood shopping centers, community and lifestyle centers, power centers, and mixed-use office, hospitality and retail entertainment complexes.
Prior to joining Koll in 1994, Mickelson was a commercial broker with Grubb & Ellis Company in Newport Beach for nine years working primarily with shopping center developers and landowners, specializing in master planned communities and ground-up developments throughout Southern California.
Mickelson earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Irvine, where he subsequently completed a two-year term as President of the UCI Alumni Association. Mickelson is an eighteen-year member of ICSC, past member of the ICSC Southern California Program Committee, and holds a broker’s license with the California Department of Real Estate.
